Luka is a generational talent. The youngest MVP, at the age of 19, in the history of the 2nd biggest Basketball league in the world, EuroLeague. First-ever NBA player to score 40+ points in a playoff debut while also being the youngest player to score a 40 point triple-double. He’s breaking NBA records here and there. I mean look at his Wikipedia page for his NBA Achievements in his second year!

And his performance reflects on the price of his cards and with his cards and the hobby being at an all-time high, a lot of people are trying to take advantage of this.

From fake BGS slabs to sellers trying to use his cards to scam people, Luka’s cards are always in the midst of it all and now, there’s an alleged new case.

According to a post in the blowoutforums.com by a user named “superdan49”, he received a tip that a certain high-end Luka card (2018–19 Panini Prizm Luka Doncic Neon Green Rookie Card) was altered or doctored.

On his post, superdan49 stated that the certain card numbered 5/5 was once been offered raw in the NBA Hot Spot Worldwide Trade & Sell Cards a few months ago and was also being sold last March 2019 in the blowout forums by a certain user named “Lane121” who was believed the person who pulled this from a pack.

He said that the card has damages: A ding in the lower right at the back and surface issue (horizontal print line)

With this card having these damages, he was surprised that it ended up being graded a 9.5 by SGC and was also “gold-certified” by MBA

He also provided pieces of evidence that the card was seemed to be “fixed”.

The card first appeared graded when it was posted by Forever Young Sports Card. It’s not yet clear if Forever Young bought this graded or if they’re the ones who grade it.

The biggest question still is how did a grading company gave it a 9.5 given that the flaws of this card are very obvious and not only that. How did it receive a gold in MBA standards? With big money coming into the hobby. especially for graded cards, we expect these companies to be credible enough to give us the real grade of the cards.

Well, we can’t answer that for sure but let’s just be vigilant when purchasing cards even graded ones.
