Cheers NBA fans! Great things are happening this week. The NBA Draft is on the horizon, scheduled to go off Wednesday, November 18th. Free Agency will begin on November 20th at 3 pm PST.

With these in mind, let’s talk about how free agency and rumors might affect certain card prices.

One might ask how does trade rumors and free agency affects card prices? Well, it’s simply because the free agency will greatly affect teams’ stocks based on their final roster after the trade deadline and that will certainly affect the card prices. How about rumors? Well, you can take those with a grain of salt. Rumors start the hype of certain teams. Who’s leaving what for whom? Who opted for free agency? Who decided to stay? These types of questions will stir some hype and along with those hypes, will be the prices of certain players.

So let’s check the recent rumors and I’d try to predict the players that will be affected by the following. These rumors are from a lot of sources and again, you should take this with a grain of salt.

  1. Chris Paul to the Phoenix Suns

Rumors have it that the 35-year old veteran caught the eye of the Suns’ management after a wonderful run with the OKC this year. Fans can remember that OKC dragged the Rockets to a 7-game thriller despite HOU’s deadly combo of Westbrook and Harden. The Suns also had spectacular bubble results winning all of their matches. The Suns want to add a veteran experience along with their young squad to push for playoff contention this new season.

Players’ Card Prices that will be Affected:

Devin Booker + | De Andre Ayton + |

The young duo’s prices have been on the low for quite a while except for Booker when Gary V hyped him up and with their performance in the bubble and the potential guidance from CP3, they will certainly go up.

2. Dennis Schröder to the LA Lakers

According to rumors, the LA Lakers are trading Danny Green and the 2020 NBA Draft #28’s pick for Dennis Schröder. Rajon Rondo will probably be opting out of his player option to get a higher offer elsewhere and the lakers are looking to fill in his spot as a back-up playmaker.

Players’ Card Prices that will be Affected:

Shai — Gilgeous Alexander + | Dennis Schroder +

Why did I include SGA? If CP3 and Dennis Schroder decided to leave OKC, SGA will be the focal point of OKC’s rebuild and that will generate a lot of hype for the young star. If he can deliver, his prices will surely skyrocket.

3. New York Knicks are interested in Carmelo Anthony and CP3.

From being an unwanted player earlier this last season to an important piece of the Blazers’ playoffs run, we can say Carmelo Anthony redeemed himself.

According to reports, the Knicks are looking to have a reunion with their former star and they are also pushing to land CP3.

Players’ Card Prices that will be Affected:

RJ Barrett +

RJ Barrett is one of the top prospects last season and things didn’t go that well with the young stud. RJ Barrett needs help and that’s very obvious. If this goes through, RJ Barrett will have more help than he can wish for. A veteran PG and a forward that can show him the ways? It’s only up to RJ to step up to the plate.

4. Gordon Hayward out of the Celtics

Gordon Hayward is a monster and people wrote him off after his injury. GH was averaging 21 points per game before he suffered a leg injury on his debut in Boston. After missing the 2018 season, fans thought that he will never be the same but his numbers in the last season tell a different story. He’s still a monster averaging 17 points per game, 4 assists, and 6 rebounds.

Now for this new season, reports say that GH wants to move on from the Celtics and wants to explore new teams these teams include the Hawks and the Knicks.

Players’ Card Prices that will be Affected:

Trae Young + | John Collins + | Cam Reddish + | Gordon Hayward -

This trio is already good on paper. What they need is some guidance that will lead them to win. If GH can give these 3 some learnings and add the fact that the east playoffs are more open, the prices of these 3 will go up.

5. James Harden to Brooklyn Nets. Rockets to receive Caris Levert and Jarret Allen

Rumor has it that James Harden might be reuniting with former NBA Champions Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

Brooklyn Nets was reported to be interested in getting James Harden to pair up with their ultimate duo to become the best team in the East.

Meanwhile, the rockets will receive the scoring prowess of Caris LeVert and Jarrett Allen. This will be great for LeVert fans as this might be the chance for LeVert to have his own team and rise to stardom.

Players’ Card Prices that will be Affected:

Kevin Durant+ | John Collins + | Caris LeVert+ | James Harden +

6. Jrue Holiday to the Nuggets

Reports say that Jrue Holiday and the Pelicans failed to negotiate the player’s contract extension. With Jrue’s performance (19 pts, 6 ast) last season, a lot of teams expressed their wants for Jrue Holiday and the Nuggets is one of them. The Nuggets wanted him to be Jamal Murray’s backcourt partner to solidify their playoff contention this year.

Players’ Card Prices that will be Affected:

Jamal Murray+ | Nikola Jokic+ | Jrue Holiday +

With a deeper playoff contention, the Nuggets duo will surely go up in price as well as Jrue’s. As for MPJ and other rookies, it will greatly depend if they will be used as a piece in the Nuggets’ contention this season.
